The difference in LED TVs

Edge Lit LED TV ..... An LED TV is actually still an LCD TV, but instead of the traditional florescent back light, the TV is illuminated by LED. This gives better brightness, more accurate color and better native contrast ratios. The LED TVs use less energy. The edge lit LED TVs only have LEDs around the edge using reflectors to illuminate the back of the LCD panel. The advantage is thin TVs and lower energy use.

Full Array LED TV .......  The Full Array LED TV is a fully lit panel with LEDs illuminating the LCD Panel. The advantage here is more light control and equal light available in all parts of the panel. Better contrast ratios are obtained because the LEDs can be turned off in black areas attaining better blacks. The full Array panels are thicker. two and a half to three and a half inches deep as opposed to the one and one quarter inch deep Edge lit tV. The full array uses slightly more power but has better light control especially in dark areas.

LED back lit LCDs are better but more expensive than traditional LCD TVs. LED seems to be the future of the LCD TV market.
